To announce the ZeGeVege Festival, Animal Friends is organizing a picnic on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11 A.M. on Trg bana Jelacica in Zagreb. Picnic blankets and baskets full of healthy fruit, vegetables, sandwiches, and cookies will be placed around the main square’s clock.<\/p>\n

During the picnic, Mrkvic, the mascot of the ZeGeVege Festival, will invite citizens to return to the same spot the following week to attend the ZeGeVege Festival and experience its rich offerings and atmosphere. Smoothies will also be made during the picnic by the Smoothie Cycle, a bycicle with a blender that mixes fruits or vegetables. At the ZeGeVege Festival, the Smoothie Cycle will be available to all attendees for riding.<\/p>\n

The picnic is supported by Petra Friganovic, Djurdjica Vorkapic, IFEEL and others.<\/p>\n

In addition to the Smoothie Cycle, a short film featuring celebrities like Steve-O, Mike Tyson, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jamse Cromwell talking about veganism will be presented during the picnic. This video can be viewed at: www.youtube.com\/afcroatia<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On September 7-8, 2012, the 5th annual ZeGeVege Festival will feature over 50 domestic and foreign exhibitors, dancers and singers, various food tastings, children’s workshops, free makeup and hair styling, a reasonably-priced restaurant with healthy meals, more than a hundred prizes and promotional sales, and many other fun, educational activities.<\/p>\n

The goal of the ZeGeVege Festival is to help Croatian citizens understand how to use natural resources in a sustainable way without harming the environment and endangering animals and the well-being of other people. To date, more than 60,000 people have visited the ZeGeVege Festival. This year’s ZeGeVege Festival will be organized as a part of Veganmania, a well-known festival which has been organised for years in Austria, Germany, and Switzerland and is now being introduced to Slovenia and Croatia. The ZeGeVege Festival is also a part of the Green Monday campaign, which is gaining more and more popularity among state institutions. Green Monday’s aim is to raise awareness about the impact of our diets on our health and the environment.<\/p>\n

In addition to hearing about what’s offered at the ZeGeVege Festival, picnic attendees will learn about the Veggie Challenge which will begin during the festival and last until World Vegetarian Day on October 1st. The purpose of the Veggie Challenge is to showcase the advantages of a vegetarian and vegan diets and to spread awareness about the ethnical, health, and ecological values of a sustainable lifestyle.<\/p>\n

Najavljuju\u0107i ZeGeVege festival, Prijatelji \u017eivotinja organiziraju u petak, 31. kolovoza 2012. u 11 sati na zagreba\u010dkom Trgu bana Jela\u010di\u0107a, simpati\u010dan piknik. Oko sata na glavnom Trgu bit \u0107e postavljene deke za piknik s ko\u0161arama punim zdravog vo\u0107a, povr\u0107a, sendvi\u010da i kola\u010da.<\/p>\n

Na ovom neobi\u010dnom pikniku bit \u0107e prisutan i Mrkvi\u0107, maskota ZeGeVege festivala, koji \u0107e pozivati gra\u0111ane da to\u010dno za tjedan dana na istome mjestu posjete ZeGeVege festival i do\u017eive njegovu raznovrsnu ponudu i dobru atmosferu. Na pikniku \u0107e se tako\u0111er piti smoothiji koji \u0107e se raditi na licu mjesta uz pomo\u0107 Smoothie Cyclea, bicikla s aparatom za sjeckanje vo\u0107a ili povr\u0107a, kojeg \u0107e gra\u0111ani mo\u0107i isprobati na ZeGeVege festivalu.<\/p>\n

Ovom pozivu na ugodno dru\u017eenje svoju potporu dat \u0107e Petra Friganovi\u0107, \u0110ur\u0111ica Vorkapi\u0107, IFEEL i drugi.<\/p>\n

Ovom prilikom objavljen je i kratki film \u2018Poznati o veganstvu\u2018 u kojem poznate osobe kao \u0161to su Steve-O, Mike Tyson, Ellen DeGeneres, James Cromwell i drugi govore o svojoj prehrani. Video je dostupan na www.youtube.com\/afcroatia.<\/p>\n

Peti po redu ZeGeVege festival ponudit \u0107e posjetiteljima 7. i 8. rujna 2012. vi\u0161e od 50 doma\u0107ih i inozemnih izlaga\u010da, atraktivne izvo\u0111a\u010de koji \u0107e veselim ritmovima potaknuti na ples i pjesmu, brojne degustacije i vi\u0161e od stotinu nagrada, promotivne prodaje, radionice za djecu, besplatna \u0161minkanja i friziranja, restoran s prigodnim cijenama primamljivih zdravih obroka te razne edukativne i zabavne aktivnosti.<\/p>\n

Cilj ZeGeVege festivala jest pomo\u0107i gra\u0111anima u Hrvatskoj da koriste za \u017eivot neophodne prirodne resurse na odr\u017eiv na\u010din, bez uni\u0161tavanja okoli\u0161a te ugro\u017eavanja \u017eivotinja i dobrobiti drugih ljudi. Festival je dosad posjetilo preko 60 tisu\u0107a ljudi.<\/p>\n

Ovogodi\u0161nji ZeGeVege festival organizira se u sklopu Veganmanije, poznatog festivala koji se ve\u0107 godinama odr\u017eava u Austriji, Njema\u010dkoj i \u0160vicarskoj, a od ove godine i u Sloveniji i Hrvatskoj. ZeGeVege festival u sklopu je kampanje Zeleni ponedjeljak, koja dobiva sve vi\u0161e potpore u javnosti i me\u0111u dr\u017eavnim institucijama, s ciljem dizanja svijesti gra\u0111ana o utjecaju prehrane na zdravlje i okoli\u0161.<\/p>\n

Piknikom se ujedno najavljuje i Vege izazov koji po\u010dinje tijekom ZaGeVege festivala, a traje najmanje do 1.10., Svjetskog dana vegetarijanstva. Vege izazovom \u017eele se pokazati raznolikost i prednosti vegetarijanske, odnosno veganske, prehrane i pribli\u017eiti ekolo\u0161ke, zdravstvene i eti\u010dke vrijednosti odr\u017eivog na\u010dina \u017eivota.<\/p>\n
