[quote width=”” align=”left”]In order to introduce the ZeGeVege Festival, Animal Friends prepares dishes of plant origin for the President’s Office<\/span> [\/quote][divider]- August 31, 2013, Pantovcak: vegan meal with President Ivo Josipovic<\/p>\n Ivo Josipovic, the President of Republic of Croatia, received members of Animal Friends for a talk in May 2013. On this occasion the delegation from Animal Friends highlighted the fact that the Animal Protection Act is not enforced in Croatia, animal protection inspection does not exist and, with more than 160 thousand vegetarians and vegans in Croatia, lack of veggie meals in kindergartens and schools means that the basic human right to a meal is being disrespected.<\/p>\n Animal Friends have also talked to President Josipovic about the campaign Green Monday whose goal is to encourage citizens not to eat food of animal origin at least once a week, as well as about the ZeGeVege Festival of Sustainable Living that will be held on September 6-7, 2013 on Trg bana Jelacica.<\/p>\n A cordial conversation between the members of the organization and President Josipovic ended with an agreement about a vegan lunch when he will be informed about the vegan diet.<\/p>\n On Saturday, August 31, 2013, at 1:30 P.M., in the President’s Office on Pantovcak there will be a vegan lunch for President Ivo Josipovic, representatives of Animal Friends, media representatives and a group of citizens as part of the “Coffee with the President” who will be joining them for lunch. On the menu there will be steaks and other delicious and healthy meals prepared exclusively with ingredients from plant origin.<\/p>\n With this lunch, President Josipovic together with Animal Friends invites citizens to visit ZeGeVege Festival, this important educational manifestation, which every year attracts over 30,000 visitors, and will be held on Trg bana Jelacica in Zagreb, on September 6-7, 2013.<\/p>\n Apart from the ethical treatment of animals and reducing national health expenses, the choice of a plant-based diet significantly influences the reduction of the negative impact man has on the environment, reducing hunger in the world and preserving water and natural resources.<\/p>\n World organizations for food and environment conservation have been urging for a change in diet for years and invite everyone to join the appeal for a change toward sustainable living.<\/p>\n Therefore this lunch is an act of support from President Ivo Josipovic for a healthier, cleaner and more compassionate planet that we live on, which shows that Croatia is also on the way to necessary ecological awareness, and therefore also universal sustainability.<\/p>\n [pp_gallery gallery_id=”101″ width=”290″ height=”290″]<\/p>\n <\/p>\n [quote width=”” align=”left”]Kako bi najavili ZeGeVege festival, Prijatelji \u017eivotinja pripremaju za Ured Predsjednika jela biljnog podrijetla<\/span>[\/quote][divider]<\/p>\n – 31.8.2013., Pantov\u010dak: veganski ru\u010dak s predsjednikom Ivom Josipovi\u0107em<\/p>\n Ivo Josipovi\u0107, predsjednik Republike Hrvatske, primio je u svibnju 2013. godine na razgovor \u010dlanove udruge Prijatelji \u017eivotinja.Tom prigodom izaslanstvo Udruge istaknulo je kako se u Hrvatskoj ne provodi dovoljno Zakon o za\u0161titi \u017eivotinja, ne postoji inspekcija za za\u0161titu \u017eivotinja te da, uz vi\u0161e od 160 tisu\u0107a vegetarijanca i vegana u Hrvatskoj, nedostatak vege obroka u vrti\u0107ima i \u0161kolama predstavlja nepo\u0161tivanje osnovnog ljudskoga prava na obrok.<\/p>\n Prijatelji \u017eivotinja su tako\u0111er s predsjednikom Josipovi\u0107em razgovarali o kampanji Zeleni ponedjeljak koja za cilj ima poticanje gra\u0111ana da barem jedan dan u tjednu ne jedu namirnice \u017eivotinjskog podrijetla, kao i o ZeGeVege festivalu odr\u017eivog \u017eivljenja koji \u0107e se odr\u017eati 6. i 7. rujna 2013. na Trgu bana Jela\u010di\u0107a.<\/p>\n Srda\u010dan razgovor \u010dlanova Udruge i predsjednika Josipovi\u0107a rezultirao je dogovorom o veganskom ru\u010dku na kojem bi ga upoznali s veganskim na\u010dinom prehrane.<\/p>\n U subotu, 31. kolovoza 2013. u 13:30 sati, u Uredu Predsjednika na Pantov\u010daku bit \u0107e poslu\u017een veganski ru\u010dak za predsjednika Ivu Josipovi\u0107a, predstavnike udruge Prijatelji \u017eivotinja, predstavnike medija i za grupu gra\u0111ana u okviru ‘kave s Predsjednikom’ koji \u0107e se pridru\u017eiti ru\u010dku. Na jelovniku \u0107e biti odresci i ostala ukusna i zdrava jela spremljena isklju\u010divo od namirnica biljnog podrijetla.<\/p>\n Predsjednik Josipovi\u0107 ovim ru\u010dkom zajedno s Prijateljima \u017eivotinja poziva gra\u0111ane da posjete ZeGeVege, va\u017enu edukativnu manifestaciju koju svake godine obi\u0111e preko 30.000 gra\u0111ana, a koja \u0107e se odr\u017eati na Trgu bana Josipa Jela\u010di\u0107a u Zagrebu, 6. i 7. rujna 2013.<\/p>\n Osim eti\u010dkog postupanja prema \u017eivotinjama i smanjenja tro\u0161kova zdravstva, odabir prehrane koja se temelji na namirnicama biljnog podrijetla zna\u010dajno utje\u010de na smanjenje negativnog utjecaja \u010dovjeka na okoli\u0161, na smanjenje gladi u svijetu te o\u010duvanje voda i prirodnih resursa.<\/p>\n Svjetske organizacije za hranu i o\u010duvanje okoli\u0161a ve\u0107 godinama apeliraju na promjenu prehrane i pozivaju sve da se pridru\u017ee apelu za promjenom prema odr\u017eivom \u017eivljenju.<\/p>\n Stoga je ovaj ru\u010dak \u010din podr\u0161ke predsjednika Josipovi\u0107a naporima za \u0161to zdraviji, \u010distiji i suosje\u0107ajniji planet na kojem \u017eivimo, \u0161to pokazuje da je i Hrvatska na putu
