Najveći veganski festival u ovome dijelu Europe, zagrebački ZeGeVege, postao je sinonim za dobru klopu. Oni koji žele isprobati nešto novo, fino i zdravo neće se moći odlučiti što kušati kada ih zapljusne val finih mirisa te počnu mamiti zanimljivi i privlačni obroci bez životinjskih sastojaka na ovogodišnjem jubilarnom 10. ZeGeVege festivalu.
Ove godine prvi put u ponudi će biti i nekoliko vrsta veganskih pizza. Prijatelji životinja već su ostvarili suradnju s deset picerija koje su na prvi dan proljeća uvele u ponudu pizzu bez sastojaka životinjskoga podrijetla, a zanimljivo je da je na taj dan samo u jednoj piceriji prodano čak više od 300 veganskih pizza!
Upravo zbog velike potražnje, kao novitet ove godine na ZeGeVegeu, posjetitelji će moći kušati sočne veganske pizze: s biljnim zrelim chedarom, gyrosom od sejtana, tofuom i raznim povrtnim dodacima. Uz piceriju, još će sedam restorana nuditi jela poput burgera od konoplje, falafela, gulaša, pašticade i woka, uz sladolede i veganske slastice.
Oni gladni znanja moći će na ZeGeVegeu usavršiti svoja znanja o kulinarskom umijeću na besplatnim radionicama kuhanja te si napuniti hladnjak i kozmetičku torbicu raznim proizvodima koji će biti dostupni na čak stotinu štandova raspoređenih po cijelome Trgu.
Radionice kuhanja, kao i svake godine, razbijat će predrasude vezane uz kuhanje s veganskim sastojcima, pa će se moći naučiti čak i kako napraviti veganske šnenokle, recept tradicionalno napravljen isključivo od kravljega mlijeka i jaja, a neće izostati ni degustacije veganske kajgane, palačinka, majoneze, proteinskih namaza, biljnih mlijeka, slastica…
Iz bogatog programa tematski raznovrsnih predavanja na hrvatskoj Veganmaniji može se izdvojiti zanimljivo predavanje o povezanosti seksa i veganske prehrane. Pozornost će plijeniti i predavanja o veganskoj prehrani djece, sportašima veganima, predrasudama o veganstvu, kao i o konkretnim iskustvima suživota sa spašenim životinjama s farma.
Kratko predavanje održat će i Ana Laura Kapetanović koja je odjenula haljinu od kelja Đurđice Vorkapić kako bi uz poruku „Veganstvo svima dobro stoji” pozvala na ZeGeVege i poručila da od veganske prehrane zaista svi mogu imati koristi. Na svojem izlaganju pričat će o vlastitim iskustvima snalaženja s veganstvom na brojnim putovanjima i o svojem utjecaju na druge ljude u buđenju suosjećanja prema životinjama.
Prijatelji životinja, organizatori ZeGeVegea, povodom 10 godina Festivala pripremaju pregršt zanimljivosti i iznenađenja te pozivaju sve željne dobre zabave i ukusne hrane da im se pridruže 8. i 9. rujna, nauče nešto više o najpopularnijem svjetskom pokretu i upoznaju se iz prve ruke s činjenicom da promjenom prehrambenih navika možemo ne samo pomoći vlastitome zdravlju i životinjama već i utjecati na glad u svijetu i zaštitu okoliša.

The biggest vegan festival in this part of Europe, Zagreb’s ZeGeVege has become synonymous with good food. Those who want to try something new, tasty and healthy won’t be able to make up their minds once they’re overwhelmed with the delicious smells and incredible offerings, all made without animal ingredients, during this year’s 10th jubilee edition of ZeGeVege Festival.
This year, for the first time, several varieties of vegan pizza will be on offer. Animal Friends already partnered with ten pizzerias that introduced pizzas without animal-derived ingredients on the first day of spring. Worthy of note, one of those pizzerias sold over 300 vegan pizzas during that day!
Precisely because of such high demand, visitors of this year’s ZeGeVege will have an opportunity to try delicious vegan pizzas, made with plant based mature cheddar, seitan gyros, tofu and various vegetables. Aside from the pizzerias, seven restaurants will offer vegan creations like hemp burgers, falafel, goulash, Dalmatian pasticada and wok, as well as vegan ice cream and desserts.
Those with a thirst for knowledge will have an opportunity to hone their culinary skills during ZeGeVege at free cooking workshops. Others can fill up their fridge and cosmetic bags with various products that will be offered on 100 stalls across Ban Jelacic Square.
Like every year, the cooking workshops will correct prejudices about cooking with vegan ingredients, and the attendees will even learn how to make a floating island (Austrian: Schneenockerln), a dessert that is traditionally made exclusively of cow’s milk and eggs. Visitors will also have an opportunity to taste vegan scrambled eggs, pancakes, mayonnaise, protein spreads, plant milk, desserts and more.
The Croatian Veganmania will have a rich programme of thematically diverse presentations, including a fascinating presentation on the connection between sex and vegan diets. The presentations on vegan diets for children, vegan athletes, prejudices about veganism, and the specific experiences of coexistence with rescued farm animals will also attract the attention of the visitors.
A short presentation will be held by Ana Laura Kapetanovic, the model who wore Djurdjica Vorkapić’s kale dress to invite visitors to ZeGeVege and spread the message “Veganism looks good on everyone,” reminding the public that everyone can benefit from a vegan diet. She will talk about her personal experiences with maintaining a vegan diet on the road, as well as her impact on other people when it comes to awakening their compassion towards animals.
